I only have 2/3 because that means I only have to worry about 2/3 kinds of food which makes transporting and using in multiple areas much easier. The main types are always either a veggie/fruit eater, never meat that way farming the food is easy. Right now I have later level slimes but basically my setup revolves around a 2/3 main types who I use to breed with several other kinds. I spread out all the slimes so my game doesn't need to process them all at once
My main reason I have 4 areas instead of 1,2 or 3 is because of frame rate issues. I have 4 main areas of slime corrals along with gardens scattered across all 4.
